Spring and by Summer Fall - 31x30 Recap

Blonde Redhead. Fitting title, don't you think?

So here is my 30 for 30 (well 31 for 30 for those keeping score) and I have a few notes on the challenge this time around.

- I built casual clothes into my wardrobe, and I'm glad that I did, but I only wore what I thought was going to be my "go-to" dress once. I guess I thought I was going to get some more use out of it, but the last month was filled with lazy weekends and this dress while perfect for le weekend, was not befitting lounging.

- I need more shirts.

- I probably DON'T need 7 pairs of shoes over 30 days, no matter how tempting. maybe.

- I look to the right a lot in my photos. I have no idea why and now it's bothering me.

-I love combining weird color/pattern colors (okay I already knew that, but this reaffirms it)

-It's hard going back to the rest of my closet after only having 30 pieces for a month. It feels sooo weird! Also, pretty much the only skirts that I like are the ones I had in the challenge, and now I have no other skirts that I want to wear, and I'm tired of wearing those same ones... conundrum!

[Thirty] One for You, [Thirty] One for Me

Going full circle with the title--back to good ole Bright Eyes!

See, I keep my promises, I did 31 outfits! Never mind that I totally didn't even realize that I did 31, we can just keep that little secret between you and me! This outfit also didn't happen on day 31, it happened somewhere between 25-29 but I can't recall when. And I'm not sure what the color situation is here, but I kinda like it! Best we keep that little tidbit under wraps too. Recap coming soon I swear.

Twenty [Nine] Years of Snow

I like about 8% of Regina Spektor songs. And some of the others I like about 60% of the song, but then she ruins the remaining 40% with way too much weirdness. So here's 29, oh and my top 5!

I'm glad that

-unlimited texting
-Storytellers (DCFC)
-lint rollers
-memory foam
-tall boys

exist.

#30 and wrap up tomorrow!

Couldn't help myself, even though I look ridiculous

[Twenty] Eight Day Hell

...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead

Longest band name ever. And this title is so effing appropriate right now. I wouldn't call it hell I'll be in for twenty eight days (actually quite a bit longer) but it's definitely going to be a more lousy than I want it to be. More to come in a later post, right now I'm tired and just trying to get through my last few days of the 30 for 30!!

[Twenty] Five Easy Pieces

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!

A great band and a great activity!

So I didn't realize that this song title was actually the title of a 70s movie with Jack Nicholson. You learn something everyday! Looks like one of those I'll have to put on the ol' Netflix queue!

The moment I put this dress on in the dressing room over a year ago, I was in love. Basically since then, I have compared every dress that I try on to this one. It's perfect. In every way. The cut is like it was made for me. Or at least it was. I've lost a few since I bought it and it's the tiniest bit too big now, but I still love it. I'd even go as far as saying that if and when I ever tie the knot, my dress will be this same cut. Oh yeah, I went there.

[Twenty] Seven Nation Army

It's been a while since I've heard this song--totally putting me in a great mood! (White Stripes)

So I'm obviously cheating, because I actually wore this today, but I'm behind on posting, hence the 24 jump to 27... I'll figure it out, don't worry! I had to post this today since it's the July EBEW and it's YELLOW! My favorite at the moment! There's something about the combination of teal, yellow, and pink that I love, but then again I'm a big fan of odd color combinations, so this really isn't a surprise!

Twenty Four Hours

Joy Division

This is my, get comfy, we're going to a spur-of-the-moment movie outfit. My dearest B and I have been through a lot in the last few years, and even more in the last few months (rocky doesn't even begin to cover it). Within the last week or two though we have begun to deal with our major dramas and on Friday after work he sprung a movie proposition on me--watching Horrible Bosses and smuggling in a couple of drinks?! Oh why the hell not! The movie was brilliant and I had a blast with someone who will always be dear to me, even if sometimes we want to kill each other. Or at least maim or seriously injure.

She Loves the Natural Light - A Break

"She may be young but she only likes old things,
And modern music it ain't to her taste,
She loves the natural light, captured in black and white,
She sees mirages of mountain ranges,
Within a blink of her eyes it changes,
Back to the open plain, oh no she can't explain."
-Death Cab for Cutie: Monday Morning

So I needed a break... Here's some Macro stuff I've been messing around with.

Wine Aroma Examples: Niner Winery, Paso Robles

My 17 year old nephew: The Witty Artist

We had to celebrate the momentous occasion of Hippies taking baths

Father's Day: Beer Me

Crooks & Shiloe: Fosters

The Kills. This song is great great great. For the most part, The Kills are one of those bands who's songs make me feel a little mischievous and definitely a little randy when I listen to them. I really just can't help myself! I contemplated using Blonde Redhead's 23, but since I've been trying to find songs with more than just the number in the title, I chose The Kills instead. Plus I'm in kind of a mischievous mood anyway :)

In other news, I'm also getting better at this whole weird dating thing. I'm usually an extremely nice person--to a fault. I can also be extremely awkward with new people--also to a fault. I think I can give myself an A for effort for the last date that I went on. He was a nice enough person, and while we had some things in common, I just wasn't feeling a connection (and I have a feeling he wasn't either) but instead of acting awkward like I usually do on first (and second, and third...) dates, I just said, screw it, I'm gonna be myself and to hell with the consequences, and I ended up having a blast even though the two of us weren't exactly compatible. I also was actually honest about how I was feeling about the whole thing instead of just being nice (I was nicely honest, of course!). So all in all, I'm pretty proud of myself!!
I'm not so proud however of this round of photos... I guess we can't be perfect all the time though, right?!
BOOTY!
