Twenty Four Hours

Joy Division

This is my, get comfy, we're going to a spur-of-the-moment movie outfit. My dearest B and I have been through a lot in the last few years, and even more in the last few months (rocky doesn't even begin to cover it). Within the last week or two though we have begun to deal with our major dramas and on Friday after work he sprung a movie proposition on me--watching Horrible Bosses and smuggling in a couple of drinks?! Oh why the hell not! The movie was brilliant and I had a blast with someone who will always be dear to me, even if sometimes we want to kill each other. Or at least maim or seriously injure.

She Loves the Natural Light - A Break

"She may be young but she only likes old things,
And modern music it ain't to her taste,
She loves the natural light, captured in black and white,
She sees mirages of mountain ranges,
Within a blink of her eyes it changes,
Back to the open plain, oh no she can't explain."
-Death Cab for Cutie: Monday Morning

So I needed a break... Here's some Macro stuff I've been messing around with.

Wine Aroma Examples: Niner Winery, Paso Robles

My 17 year old nephew: The Witty Artist

We had to celebrate the momentous occasion of Hippies taking baths

Father's Day: Beer Me

Crooks & Shiloe: Fosters

My beautiful Oscar

The Kills. This song is great great great. For the most part, The Kills are one of those bands who's songs make me feel a little mischievous and definitely a little randy when I listen to them. I really just can't help myself! I contemplated using Blonde Redhead's 23, but since I've been trying to find songs with more than just the number in the title, I chose The Kills instead. Plus I'm in kind of a mischievous mood anyway :)

In other news, I'm also getting better at this whole weird dating thing. I'm usually an extremely nice person--to a fault. I can also be extremely awkward with new people--also to a fault. I think I can give myself an A for effort for the last date that I went on. He was a nice enough person, and while we had some things in common, I just wasn't feeling a connection (and I have a feeling he wasn't either) but instead of acting awkward like I usually do on first (and second, and third...) dates, I just said, screw it, I'm gonna be myself and to hell with the consequences, and I ended up having a blast even though the two of us weren't exactly compatible. I also was actually honest about how I was feeling about the whole thing instead of just being nice (I was nicely honest, of course!). So all in all, I'm pretty proud of myself!!
I'm not so proud however of this round of photos... I guess we can't be perfect all the time though, right?!
BOOTY!

[Twenty] Two Years this Month

Why is The Good Life's Album of the Year so good? It's like Tim Kasher had this wave of genius in his life when he created both this album and Cursive's The Ugly Organ, and nothing was as good before, and nothing will compare in the future. The stars aligned for him and we all get to benefit. Thanks, Tim!

The Last Last [Twenty] One

The Weakerthans--sigh. love.
Okay, so I'm starting to get a little desperate with my post titles... I'm beginning to liberally add my own words to songs to make them work. We all do what we can to survive, right?

Let's get right to it!

I'll be honest, this is my first listen to Deer Tick, They are one of those bands that I've always meant to give a listen, but just never got around to. I've gotta say, I'm kinda digging them!

*Note to self: DO NOT eat a So Delicious Ice Cream Bar then proceed to drink red wine that has been open for almost a week. You definitely DON'T want your wine to taste like hot dogs again.

I'm really curious as to why the above happened. Never thought that the outcome of pairing those two foods would result in hot dogs. Gross.

Here are my Top 5 for this week...

I am super glad that

- So Delicious Ice Cream Bars
- Turquoise Nail Polish
- Cousins with excellent advice
- my cell phone charger
- Brutally honest friends

exist.

19th Nervous Breakdown

Ahh yeah!! The Stones baby!

First thing's first--Much love and thanks for the shout out from Linda at littletinsoldier. THANKYOU.THANKYOU.THANKYOU!! I'm completely flattered!

Love this dress, but it's so so so short! I was out and about all day when I wore this on Saturday and I was constantly pulling it down (granted I was using a purse with a long strap and it made it ride up a bit, but still, I was on booty alert all day). Oh and the back of this dress is awesome, but my clueless self was too distracted by the heat to remember to take a photo. Next time I promise. I'll try.

I would like to take a moment to thank the wind. Thank you wind.
Okay I'm done.
